Windows Live SkyDrive

Isn't that typical?  I take a week's holiday and the Windows Live people choose that time to make this available to people in the UK.  I've been following Windows Live Folders (as it was called) for a while now, but the beta's only been available to users in North America.  Now we can use it too (but it's still in Beta).

If you haven't seen it, it's one of those "storage in the cloud" services.  You get 500MB of storage, associated with your Windows Live ID, within which you can create files and folders underneath the top-level headings of Personal, Shared, and Public.  What's nice is that there is some intelligence there to recognise certain file types and offer options that make sense.  For example, if I browse through my folders and find a .jpg file it presents me with a little fragment of HTML that I can use to embed the image in a web page.

You can get started by going to http://skydrive.live.com.
