8 Random Things About Me

I'm truly sorry about this, but Daniel tagged me.  I'll list my 8 things as obliged, but I won't be tagging anyone else because I don't think I know 8 people with blogs that haven't already been tagged by Daniel.  Most people I know don't have blogs; a fact that sets me apart from Daniel, and sets him apart from the human race :-)

1. I get bored easily - already bored with trying to think of 8 random things about me.
2. I'm married with 3 children.
3. I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of 1970s' children's TV. For example: remember the opening sequence to Hong Kong Phooey? he wasn't "Henry, the mild-mannered janitor", he was "Penry", short for "Penrod". I don't know how or why I should have accumulated this knowledge, but I like to annoy colleagues with it.
4. I play the piano a bit. I know some people say this and then you find out that, in fact, they are extremely talented. Let me quantify my ability... On a good day I can sight-read to grade 5 level, but my playing doesn't get noticeably better when I've played the same piece multiple times. Only recently have I been able to play anything without having printed music in front of me. What sort of music do I play? Jazz, blues, classical - not necessarily in that order.
5. I was born and grew up in Hereford, the city once referred to on "Not the Nine O'Clock News" as "Boring old market town in the middle of nowhere". Best known for Ronnie Radford of Hereford United's "best FA Cup goal of all time".
6. I'm a closet flight-sim fan. I can do all the navigation and I passed all the built-in exams. I've never actually sat for 6 hours and done a real-time transatlantic flight though - see fact number 1.
7. I hate shaving.
8. I have a Nintendo DS and (when the kids aren't using it) I'm currently working through World 4 of "Yoshi's Island".
