The developer tab in Word 2007's ribbon includes controls for authoring macros and working with XML. By default it is hidden. To show the developer tab, here's what you need to do...
- Open the Office Menu (click on the big round button in the top-left corner).
- Select "Word Options" at the bottom of the Office Menu.
- On the page called "Popular" select the checkbox called "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon".
That's it.
